What Actually Separates These Tools
Not price. They all sit between $20 and $80, which, against the €150 to €250 of a photo session, is roughly the same order of magnitude. What genuinely separates them is three practical constraints: how many photos of you they demand, how long you wait, and how much of the result you get to decide.
All three follow from one upstream technical choice, so that is where to start if you want to understand why one tool wants twenty selfies and three hours while another wants one and twenty seconds.
Two Technical Families, Two Trade-offs
Family 1: training a model on your face. The tool builds a small model specific to you from a batch of photos. This is how HeadshotPro, Aragon and BetterPic work. It explains everything else: you need a batch of usable selfies (6 to 20 depending on the tool), you wait for training to run (fifteen minutes to three hours), and in exchange the model knows you well enough to place your face in dozens of different setups.
Family 2: single-pass rendering. The tool takes one photo and re-renders it with a different outfit, backdrop and lighting, learning nothing beforehand. This is our method. One photo is enough, the result arrives in seconds, and you keep control of each parameter. In exchange there is no model that knows you: fidelity rests entirely on the quality of the source photo.
Neither is better in the abstract. They answer different situations, and that is the real basis for choosing.

What the Table Does Not Say
Photos delivered is not photos you can use. Out of 70 generated headshots you will keep three or four. A tool that delivers 120 is not giving you six times the service of one that delivers 20: mostly it is giving you more sorting to do. The real metric is hit rate, and no table measures it.
They all fail, and on roughly the same faces. Glasses (frames that duplicate or cross), heavily textured hair, unusual lighting in the source photos, strong asymmetry: these are the classic failure modes of image generation, and no vendor escapes them. Any tool promising a perfect result on every face is overselling.
Permanent promotions distort the comparison. Several of these pages permanently show a struck-through price and a much lower real one. Compare what you actually pay at checkout, not list prices.
How to Choose, by Constraint
You already have a good stock of sharp, varied selfies, and time to spare: a family-one tool is a good choice. That is exactly the situation they are built for, and the volume delivered gives you room to pick.
You have exactly one decent photo, or no appetite for digging through your camera roll: family one is blocked before you start. This is the most underestimated constraint, and the one that rules out the most people.
You need it now: an hour's wait on a tool that runs well is a round trip; an hour's wait at 11 pm the night before an application is not.
You want to choose the outfit and backdrop: check this before paying. Some tools deliver an imposed assortment, others let you decide. If you already know you want a light blue shirt on a light grey backdrop, sixty random photos is a bad purchase.
You want to see whether it works on your face first: favour whatever can be tried without paying. BetterPic has a queue-based free tier; we have a no-account trial plus three credits on sign-up. Either way you will know before the card comes out.
Where We Sit, Without Dressing It Up
Where we lose: on raw volume, the tools above deliver more photos, and their trained models produce a wider variety of setups. If your criterion is "most images for the money", HeadshotPro at $39 for 50 headshots is ahead. Nor do we claim to match a good photographer on a photo that genuinely matters.
Where we win: one photo is enough, there is nothing to train, and the result comes back in about twenty seconds. You explicitly choose the outfit, the backdrop and optionally the hairstyle, instead of receiving an assortment. The pack is €19, one-time, no subscription, and the credits do not expire: come back in six months and they are still there.
What we cannot do: official identity photos (passport, ID card), which require an approved booth. And we have no company offering for photographing a whole team.
Testing Without Getting Burned
Quality on a face is not something a comparison can settle for you, this one included. The reliable method comes down to four points.
Try it on your own face before paying. Every serious tool has a way to do that. If one does not, that is information.
View the result large, not as a thumbnail. Generation defects show at full size: glasses frames, stray hair, collars, hands.
Check that it is still you. Compare side by side with the source photo. If the headshot de-aged or smoothed you, it is useless to you: see what LinkedIn actually allows.
Check the policy on your photos. What the tool keeps, for how long, and how you delete everything. It is your face.
